about
Welcome to the EMC Programming Café!
We are a (self-organised) group of bio-medical researchers based at Erasmus Medical Center (in Rotterdam, NL). Our glorious purpose is to support each other with all sort of “coding matters”. We talk about programming, scripting, software configs, visualization, stats and open science challenges in general.
We meet (usually bi-monthly) to share knowledge, “pair program”, review each others’ code or, sometimes, just to have a chat.
You could sumamrise our interests into 6 general themes:
- UserR manual: R programming (general coding advice + specific tools)
- Piece of Py: Python programming (general coding advice + specific tools)
- SpaGitHub: Git and Github witchery
- CLI & chill: getting to know the shell (aka bash / console / terminal / command line / linux stuff) + working on a shared server (e.g. SLURM tips and tricks)
- Coding Couture: making pretty things (data visualization, website developent, quarto)
- Stats (we ran out of silly names): Statistics, modeling and other mathy things
☕️ Join us!
Everybody (all experiece levels and research interests) is welcome to join us!
